Q: I AM INTERESTED IN YOUR COLORADO MOCCASIN SHEEPSKIN SLIPPERS WITH THE TRACTION RUBBER SOLE, DO YOU MAKE THESE IN MEN'S SIZE 10 4E WIDTH? I SUFFER EACH NIGHT WITH EDEMA AND I AM LOOKING FOR SOME RELIEF. RPM

Asked by: Robert P MacLeod - 11/8/2015
A: Hi
Thanks for the interest. I think that you would be most comfortable in a custom made pair...I have had good luck with edema and swelling problems by modifying my pattern somewhat to make the top bigger and the opening bigger. I could do this for you, but there is a $25 custom fee. Because it not an option you can order on the web site, you can call us at
1 888 479 2244
and let us know that you would like to continue with the custom wide size 10 men's and we can process your order on the phone, Thanks
Jean

Q: my husband is a wide 9 1/2 what size do you recommend?

Asked by: bubby - 11/26/2015
A: We can accommodate up to a EE width with our standard sizes. Widths of EEE or wider may require a custom order, which is an additional $25. I would recommend our size 9 1/2. Please indicate the width on the customer comments section, and we will pick the appropriate pair for you

Q: My husband wears a 10 12 shoe size, but his feet swell so we buy the expandable type. He is almost 92yrs, and we want to buy American, we live on our Social Security so if we pay this much we want the slipper to fit. QUESTION: WHAT SIZE WIDTH MUST WE BUY TO GET THE RIGHT SLIPPER?

Asked by: Narie - 12/16/2015
A: We can make an open cut design that would make it more comfortable for your husband at no extra cost.

Q: I have this style of your moccasin that I bought many years ago. I'm still wearing them, but the sheepskin in getting more matted down and the stitching is starting to wear on the toe. I just want a new pair. On the bottom it says 7 1/2, but I know they've stretched out over the years. My width of shoe is a B in regular shoes, but more recently I have purchased sz 8 in my tennis shoes and boots. I always put an insole in them. My question is then, should I still purchase the size 7 1/2 or now an 8? I don't wear socks with these slippers.

Asked by: Judy Ford - 1/6/2017
A: These do stretch out a bit after some wear, so you want to start with a snug fit. If you plan on wearing them barefoot I would say 7 1/2 would be good for you. Try on the carpet for 15 minutes with bare feet and see how they feel. If they are uncomfortably snug you can mail them in for an exchange.

Q: Hi there, 2 questions; 1. Does the men's crepe sole slipper provide any arch support. 2. I have narrow feet, size 10-1/2B. Will this slipper stay on my feet?

Asked by: Chris - 3/18/2019
A: 1. The crepe sole Colorado Moccasin does not have any built in arch support. The 3/4" sheepskin footbed will pack down and form to your foot somewhat. We do offer built in orthotics for our rubber soled products and Santa Fe's

2.We should be able to accommodate a B width. Just put a note in the comments section of your order that you have a narrow foot, and we will find a pair that will work for you.

Q: Is any part of the slipper made in China or another country?

Asked by: Dorree - 11/21/2019
A: The sole on this slipper is made from a natural crepe rubber made from a rubber tree that does not grow on this continent. We import the raw material from Sri Lanka before making the sole here in our Colorado shop. All other materials are locally, USA sourced.

Q: Can these slippers be resoled?

Asked by: Natalya - 12/24/2020
A: The crepe rubber material is currently unavailable. I cannot produce new crepe soled slippers, nor resole old products at this time. It may take several years to re-establish an international contact for this material.

Q: My husband needs new slippers that will grip hard wood floors and stairs and potentially slippery tile kitchen floor. Will these do the trick? Even if wet? He's ready to toss his LLBean wicked good slippers after sliding down a flight of stairs.

Asked by: Roxanne - 5/27/2021
A: yes, the crepe sole is the best option for those situations.

Q: How do your sizes run? I buy an 8 in Minnetonka but I see you have 8.5 sizes. I wear 8.5 in my Asics. So do you have a recommendation? Thanks Gretchen

Asked by: Gretchen - 11/20/2021
A: Our sizing is usually on the generous side. If you wear socks with your slippers, the 8 1/2 would probably be best. If you prefer a snug fit on a bare foot, the 8 may be better.

Q: Is the crepe rubber sole completely flat and as flexible as the leather sole? I would like a bit more traction but don't want any heel lift or stiffness.

Asked by: Debrah - 12/4/2021
A: The crepe rubber used for the sole is very similar to the leather sole as far as thickness and flexibility at normal temperatures. It is completely flat and quite flexible.

Q: How are the crepe soles attached to the uppers? In the photos they appear sewn, but are they also vulcanized? Thanks. R. Coffey

Asked by: Rick - 2/15/2022
A: The crepe soles are made from an all natural, minimally processed crepe material that is first glued to the slipper, then stitched to the upper along the sidewall, keeping the stitch away from ground contact and out from under your foot. Vulcanization is not an option due to the high temperatures and chemicals involved.

Q: I can't see the crepe sole in this photo. Do you have a better photo? Thank you!!

Asked by: sara - 2/15/2022
A: I can send a higher resolution photo, but there is not much more to see. It is a 1/8" thick sheet of crepe rubber cut to shape and sewn to the upper the same way as our leather soles.

Q: Hi. Are the crepe soles very flexible? I need traction because of our wooden stairs, but I also need flexibilty. I often find slipper bottoms to be too stiff and clunky. Thanks!

Asked by: MB - 8/22/2022
A: The crepe soles on the Colorado Moccasin Sheepskin Slippers with Traction Rubber Crepe Sole are very flexible. They are similar in temper and flexibility to our standard leather soled slippers.

Q: What are the widths of the men's slippers? Will you make a wider width for me if you don't carry it as standard?

Asked by: Luann Osborne - 10/23/2023
A: We can accommodate up to about a EE width in the Colorado Moccasin without a custom order. Just request a wide pair during checkout.. We can make a custom wide pair to a foot tracing for wider widths, but only do custom work in our off season from February to September.

Q: Hi. What would be the most appropriate for stepping outside briefly: the 'traction rubber crepe' or the leather sole? I guess part of my question is as to why you have a traction rubber sole offered. ty in advance.

Asked by: JON FORTMAN - 12/12/2023
A: The best all-around option for limited outdoor use is the leather sole. The leather is superior in comfort and durability, but provides little traction on snow, ice, or smooth, wet surfaces. If you plan on going out to get the paper in the snow before shoveling the walk, the crepe sole would be your best option.

Q: Is it available in men’s size 10 with the non-slip sole?

Asked by: Dan - 10/20/2024
A: Sorry, but no. We can no longer get the crepe material, so we have had to discontinue the crepe sole. We do still have some leather Santa Fe mocs in a mens size 10 (28 CM), but do sheepskin mocs left in that size
